Welcome Back!

For the last year, I have devoted virtually all of my non-work time to the preparation of my book, “The Family Law Evidence Handbook” to be published by the American Bar Association Family Law Section Publications this spring. Having completed that project, I am ready to get back to regular contributions to Peskind Family Law Insights. This will be an exciting year for family law. In addition to the constant stream of new cases, many legislative changes could be on the horizon as well. The Illinois Family Law Study Committee, of which I was a proud member, has completed its two-year review of the state’s family laws. The committee’s recommendations to the Illinois General Assembly will no doubt be the subject of much discussion and debate.

Finally, our firm will be publishing a second blog focusing on child relocation issues with an emphasis on Illinois law. The Peskind Law Firm has a history of successfully trying many removal and relocation cases including the landmark case, IRMO Collingbourne. The economy is forcing many divorced parents to look for work out of state, and, as a result, our firm has seen an influx in these types of cases. I wanted to devote a blog specifically to legal and practical circumstances surrounding child relocation. That blog can be found at: www.illinoischildremoval.com/wordpress/

I’m glad I have the opportunity to not only resume work on Peskind Family Law Insights but to also create a new blog geared toward relocation and removal issues specifically.  I look forward to sharing them with you!
